There are many valuable life lessons to learn from fairy tales, including lessons that can remain throughout your child's life.

Life Lessons in Fairy Tales

We all grew up listening to or watching fairy tales. Perhaps now you look at them as simple stories that were entertaining when you were a kid. If you stop and think about it, there are many lessons you can learn from fairy tales. Don't let your children miss out on them! Here are four of the lessons your child can learn from reading fairy tales.

Get out of Your Comfort Zone

You’ll never know a different world if you don’t get out of your comfort zone. When Rapunzel left her tower she reunited with her parents and discovered a world she only dreamed of. Don’t be afraid to fail or try something new. You may find your true calling if you explore different challenges.

Be Kind

A little kindness can go a long way. People respond better to someone who’s kind as opposed to someone who’s mean. Cinderella could’ve treated her step-family the same way they treated her, but she didn’t. Showing kindness is something that you’ll never regret doing.

Be Your Own Hero

You don’t need someone to save you or fix your problems, you can do it on your own. The times for waiting for a prince charming to come and rescue you are long gone. Modern day heroines save themselves. Think about Anna going on a solo journey to find her sister Elsa or Mulan saving a whole country.

First Impressions Can Be Deceiving

You’ve probably heard the saying “never judge a book by its cover.” It should be a saying to live by. The Beast, at first glance, seemed like a monster, but as Belle got to know him she fell in love. Snow White was tricked by a witch who looked like an innocent old lady. If you don’t like something at first, give it a second chance to change your mind.
